MeDea is the name of a site founded in 1997 in Venice (Italy) by women all brought by a common interest in online information and communication networks.

The initiative originated by the women working at the italian webzine Info@Perla seeking to expand their cyber-horizon and to reach a new international public.
Among the aims are the study of various themes connected with the "digital society" and the exploration of the new ways in which the digital scenario might develop in the future.

MeDea considers of fundamental importance to mark with projects, thougts and actions of women the new ways of online information and communication.
